A small but very useful update to 12spd Shimano Di2 2x groupsets that allows a lot more customisation for shifting setups.
Using a cable from the front shifter to the grips is by far the easiest way to do a shifter firmware update. Last time I updated using the same cable from one of my front shifters (from the same bike) on several other bike shifters. It worked perfectly well and was a lot faster, because I only had to plug the transmission cable into one front shifter in stead of several. This tip is especially useful if you have bikes that are 1x – because these bikes otherwise force you to fish the DI2 battery out of the frame. And if you don’t have a 2x your friend’s front shifter connection will do the trick!
