The Magene P515 has been one of the most requested power meters to hit the Lama Lab recently, and after two months of testing across both the PES alloy and TEO carbon cranksets, the results are in. And unlike a few recent competitors, this one actually held up well when put under pressure.
Any concerns with the build quality? Had a Magene P505 for a brief period last year that I sent back after the Magene chainring looked more worn after 20 rides than my previous set did after 8+ years (not just wear marks, the chain ring had obvious metal bits flaking off of it). I also noticed that the crank spindle fit noticeably looser in my bottom bracket than my previous crankset and another Shimano crankset I borrowed from a friend to compare against. This resulted in a noticeable vibration through the crank anytime I was pedaling at low power/effort levels.
