In this video, I review the new Wahoo TRACKR Radar — marking Wahoo’s entry into the rear bike radar/light market long dominated by Garmin’s Varia. The video dives into what bike radar is, my extensive radar testing history, and a detailed breakdown of the TRACKR Radar’s features, including its detection capabilities, battery life, and performance in real-world testing. While the unit performs reliably and compares well to Garmin’s Varia, there are a few shortcomings noted: the lack of a companion mobile app, no saddle rail mount included. Overall, it’s a solid product that works as intended and stands as a real contender in the radar space.

I’m not buying a Varia until they put USB-C on it.
I have a Varia with a dying battery. Considering switching over but I’m wondering will this wahoo unit work with my EDGE 3rd party data fields… specifically the speed overlay and my bike traffic (I think that is what they are called).
Yes. The MyBikeRadarTraffic field is used throughout this video.
Can you elaborate on the brake function and wouldn’t this be a plus compared to the Varia radar?
I don’t see much value in it to be honest. There’s a demonstration of how it works within the video.
