Great review, perfect video format and on point tests. Confirmed me I am not crazy and the faster gradient display on 1050 and 1040 23.09 fw has a strong “edge sharpening” component. It gets me an initial overshoot snd back at start of every climb, and some exaggerate max grade for mere mortals, and very large for athletes like you holding 800W forever.
My edge 1040 has been worse than my edge 1000 in routing from years ago. guilford to new haven, CT the 1000 does 15.6 mi reasonable route. The 1040 wants me to go over 21mi to that train station. It seems to just always stick to either popular or lower traffic roads, no matter what settings.
Please try that, too – run side by side edge 1000 and 1040/1050 A to B routing.
Is there a way to record displayed grade to FIT?
