With an impressive technical spec sheet and the biggest screen (screen-to-bezel ratio) we’ve seen on a cycling GPS unit the iGPSport iGS800 has raised a few eyebrows since its announcement in late March 2024. Here’s a “delivery day” first look and unboxing of the unit iGPSport has delivered for review. Stay tuned for a lot more detail on this unit once it has been tested indoors and out!

Hi Shane, have you had a chance to test it out in real life?
I am guessing it was a POS, given it is so long since it was unboxed?
I wonder, why this review is taking so much time?
I’ve had trouble trying to communicate with iGPSport in regard to firmware updates, etc. They seem to release updates randomly without warning that I have to keep up with. It’s also a pain trying to record/capture a GPS that doesn’t have screen recording. The device does the basics OK. There are some major issues with it though.
Hey there,
I was hoping that the IGPSport iGS800 would be a alternative choice to the Garmin 1040. I could save approximately 30-35% on the purchase. I don’t need screen recording, although that feature is cool. I would like it to do what the Garmin does though. I like the iGS physical buttons and screen. I heard that it will also work with the Insta360 X4 for overlay stats. So what do you think, is it a no-go and I should just stick with Garmin, specifically the 1040? Thanks!
No so sure, because user reviews on AliExpress are very positive.
