The season has arrived in Australia when our indigenous Magpies (distinct from magpies in other regions of the world) commence their annual swooping initiative, aimed at safeguarding their nests from potential threats. While I’ve never witnessed a cyclist attempting to ascend a tree in pursuit of baby magpies for a meal, it doesn’t deter these birds from displaying remarkable aggression towards cyclists and anything else they perceive as a danger to their offspring. This year, I’ve acquired a new means of shielding myself from these less-than-hospitable feathered acquaintances. π²π¦

Does the helmet get damaged? Because I just avoid the ear stabbing magpies, but there’s still plenty that damage helmets, which basically means the helmet goes in the bin.
