ZWIFT Coffee Stop Feature: All The Details // Q&A

Zwift today launch the ‘Coffee Stop’ feature available to all users via the Action Bar (and soon Companion App) that’ll allow a 30 second break in the first 5 minutes of a ride, and a 3 minute break after 30 minutes. This video covers how things work with the initial release.

Coffee Stop Overview:
● During the first 5 minutes of your ride – Coffee Stop is available for 30 seconds.
● After 30 minutes of your ride – Available for 3 minutes (180 seconds).
● Once used it’s not available for another 30 minutes of elapsed time (not ride time).

Q&A:
Q: What are the event restrictions on Coffee Stop?
A: You cannot take a Coffee Stop during the last 15 minutes of a time-based event or the last 5 km of a distance-based event. Coffee Stops are also not allowed during competitive events and races.

Q: Do I continue to accumulate XP during a Coffee Stop?
A: Yes.

Q: Do I continue to accumulate KMs/Miles during a Coffee Stop?
A: Yes.

Q: Does Strava still count the KMs/Miles during a Coffee Stop?
A: Yes.

Q: Do I continue to accumulate Drops during a Coffee Stop?
A: No. Drops are calculated on effort… no effort, no Watts, no Drops.

Q: How can you tell if someone is using Coffee Stop?
A: They’ll have the Coffee Stop logo above their avatar.

Q: Will Zwift automatically follow the bunch at intersections?
A: It doesn’t look like it.

Q: What happens if whoever I’m roped to stops?
A: You also stop.

Q: What happens if whoever I’m roped to does a U-Turn.
A: You stop… or latch onto whoever comes past while you’re still moving.

Q: Can you still pedal/move your avatar during a Coffee Stop?
A: Yes. But it’ll also stop the Coffee Stop and resume your ride!

Q: Will Coffee Stop functionality change?
A: Likely Yes. This is v1.0
