Garmin EDGE Update 28.20 – Virtual Partner Now Optional // EDGE 1050 MTB Features

This week’s Garmin Edge update is a big one! Firmware 28.20 is now rolling out across the Edge 540, 840, 1040, 1050, and Edge MTB. All models are now unified under version 28.x, making firmware tracking much simpler.

Highlights Include:
➡️ Virtual Partner can finally be disabled (system-wide setting).
➡️ Edge 1050 gains all the new MTB features from the Edge MTB.
➡️ Improved sensor connectivity.
➡️ Clear temp files option + music control on EDGE MTB.
➡️ Plus the usual bug fixes and performance tweaks.

  1. Is there a way to use shifter programmable buttons (shimano di2 grx in my case) to acknowledge/ decline the garmin edge hazard pop up (1050 in my case). Couldn’t find much info. Thanks for whatever you do/publish. Has saved me heaps of time throughout the years.
