This seems so straight forward, so why is the manufacturer not doing this as an option?! It would seem that being the first one with an spd power meter on the market would result in major $$$$.
I just got the stuff for the hack, having worked in product development as a career, the only thing that makes sense is they don’t feel comfortable telling people they may need to grind out part of their shoe to clear the power components. Probably lawyers put the stop on it.
I wonder if you wouldn’t need to hack your shoes if you got some road shoes that have the SPD cleat holes, such as the Pearl Izumi Attack

No. Just XPedo compatible pedal bodies.
Has anyone come up with a list of Xpedo pedals that work with this conversion? I know the M4, M8 and CXR but they are difficult to find here in the UK. What about the M3 and the M4-CR etc?

IMHO Favero does not sell them as they would be incompatible with most shoes (how many would have the skill and will of modifying a new pair of shoes such that to have the right clearance with the pod?). I suspect most would return the pedals with lots of complaints…
Is it possible to convert them into clipless flatpedals, for MTB?
Or, even better, do this with Garmin Vector3 pedals that I already have?
Of course I mean flatpedals, not clipless flatpedals…
I did the conversion 8 months back and have a pair of Diadora MTB shoes and didn’t even have to make any adjustments to the shoes. I did find that the pedal body screw kept slow unscrewing itself so every 2 rides I had to open-up the end-cap and tighten it down again. I fixed that with some loctite and it has since worked flawlessly.
Hi!, Funny you mention this. I did the conversion about a year ago and yesterday noticed that the pedal body was loose. Are you talking about the screw on the shaft where the spring is?
I have done the conversation with xpedo baldwin pedals. I had to remove the seal next to the pod due to binding but it works and spins free.
Can you give a few more details, and how are they still working out?

Impossibile to buy Xpedo Force 4, is it possible to use expedo force 3? and exustar o ritchey?

The Xpedo Force 4 are now unavailable. You can use the Xpedo Force 3, but the Xpedo inner bearing is 12mm whereas the Assioma inner bearing is 10mm so you need to insert a plain bearing / bushing to prevent the SPD pedal body from rocking on the outer bearing & wearing it out prematurely. Fortunately this is easy peasy. Buy the uxcell Sleeve Bearing 10mm Bore x 12mm OD x 8mm Length Plain Bearings Wrapped Oilless Bushings Pack of 10 from Amazon. You get 10 of them for $6 including shipping & you only need 2, but you can share the other 8 with your friends. The other downside is that you can’t put the old Assioma Road pedals onto the Xpedo shafts to create a pair of road pedals for your mates.

Only some. It doesn’t work with them all.
I have put Shimano PD-ME700 pedal bodies on the Duo-Shi’s, looks to work fine so far.
